First competition of the year for me ...  ..  Malborough school St albans.

set up in the music room ... very low ceiling and the chanters were a real mess to start with, but Jim sorted out.

Did our 4mins around noon then off for a picnic .

pleasant surprise afterwards when we came second behind Reading.

Royal Scotsman visits Bluebell railway

The full band participated at the Bluebell Railway for the Flying Scotsman visit on the morning of Thursday 13 April . to send off the first trip , and then to welcome it back. this was an early start - 7am departure, 9am return and 10am departure.

Mini bands competition

First Competition of the year ...  the Mini bands.  the earlier Quartets competition being cancelled due to lack of interest.

I was there on the bench .. supporting .. 

Cancer research party

The band did a show for the cancer research party for the fund raisers ... it was in the conference rooms at the Gatwick Hilton.

New uniform .. white shirts, green lovat socks, new pipe bags, and cords.

did not take pictures ... too interested in watching the audience most of whom seemed older than we were.. and also looking for mistakes ;-)

Copthorne Carnival

 Wet ..  and more wet ...  It started raining as we left the hall walking down.

We tuned up behind the school, but the rain came harder and thunder.

After a long pause we surrendered and walked off

It rained, just as we gathered for the tune up ... behind the school.

then it stopped, we tuned a bit , and the lightning came down all around.. time to take cover.

It brightened up and we thought we may get on, but as we tuned again it rained some more ....

a disappointing day.
