The Men They Couldn't Hang, Llandrindod Pavillion

The Men They couldn't Hang came to Llandod ...  a show we could easily get to and we had been there earlier in the year.
unfortunately this time the balcony was closed so w could not sit up there and had to grab a chair to sit aroudn the edge (with all the similar "old" people)
The support act was  a local friend of the band from Llandeilo.
He gave renditions of some covers - innocence ignorance and greed from Show of Hands, Eagles days of Summer, Nick Lowe's ..., and a Cush number from TMTCH before he died.
Half the band was in the audience.
Luckily the crowd went forward a bit during the show so we got a better view..  though there were a group of four men who insisted in completely getting in the way!
Lots of old favourites as well as a new song from the upcoming album (provided they get the money to make it)
A short interval before a hurried encore - the numbers in the audience were disappointing which was a great shame as it would be good to have the venue on the national tours.
Set List (TBC)

  • Going Back to Coventry

Jethro Tull, City Hall, Sheffield.

Katie & Lloyd had bought us tickets to go and see Jethro Tull at Sheffield City hall.
We arrived early with the idea to find somewhere for food, but ended up just gettign a drink at a local rather than chain pub.
The stage had a huge projection behind it with a little animation, as well as a huge notice about "No Cameras" and that there would be a special section at the end.
We sat in the second block to the right and had a reasonable view.
Plenty of the old favourites played to make it memorable and not too much community singing.
Cameras were allowed during the encore...  so just a few photos.
After the encore there was a repeat of the animation and we all trooped out.

The Watch (Genesis early years cover band), The Pavilion Llandrindod Wells

A new venue for us - in the nearest town to Steph. We just saw the show advertised and went along.
The Watch are an Italian tribute band...  very much in the style of early Genesis - little stage movement, relying on the music.
They played two sets, followed by an encore - essentially Hacket era tunes.

  • The Knife
  • The Musical Box
  • I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)
  • Firth of Fifth
  • Carpet Crawlers
